The program that is administered through the Office of the Attorney General started as a pilot program in January 2005. There are currently 63 participating counties, including police departments, sheriff’s offices, and the Unified Judicial System.  Per Court Orders or as a condition of sentencing, some participants in the program are required to test for alcohol or drugs.  Custer County participants have the option of being fitted with SCRAM bracelet or wearing a transdermal patch.  The Custer County 24/7 Program does not provide testing by PBT’s, Urine Analysis, Take Home Breath Tests or the Interlock Device.  Additional information on the program can be retrieved from the programs website: https://atg.sd.gov/legal/DUI247/default.aspx#gsc.tab=0
