NOTICE TO PRAIRIE DOG APPLICATORS: Licensing requirements for fumigation by private and commercial applicators have been revised by the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources. As of February 1, 2025, you are now required to be certified in “Non-soil Fumigation pest control” to either purchase or use fumigants. The State is in the process of contacting applicators and dealers. Contact your local testing center to obtain the certification.
The Custer County Weed & Pest Board and Custer County Weed & Pest Department are committed to the implementation of an effective integrated Weed & Pest Management Program.
Our goal is to control and monitor local and state noxious weeds and declared pests within Custer County. Custer County Weed and Pest Department is overseen by the County Weed Board which meets at least four times per year. The Director informs the Weed Board on activities of the Weed Department.
