Is required if an agricultural producer has the potential of producing more than $1,000 of an agricultural commodity, or if the landowner wishes to purchase/use a restricted use pesticide.

Private licenses are valid for three years.

SD Commercial Applicator License:

Required if you apply pesticides for hire, or if you are a government employee that applies pesticides while performing your work duties.

Commercial licenses are valid for two years.
